Jennifer Love Hewitt, Garth Brooks To Star In Remake Of “The Bodyguard”

The Bodyguard

She promised herself she wouldn't fall in love.

Los Angeles—Warner Brothers announced yesterday that the long-anticipated remake of the 1992 Kevin Costner-Whitney Houston smash hit “The Bodyguard” will finally become a reality, this time with Jennifer Love Hewitt as the role of the bodyguard hired to protect singing star Garth Brooks’ character.

This version will focus more on technology like Twitter and Google Maps that makes the stalking of a celebrity much easier than when the first script was written in the mid-1970s, and even easier than when Costner and Houston’s version came out, the press release said.

Though it was unlikely that either Costner or Houston would be associated with the new incarnation, the recent death of the singer did have a hand in getting the remake back on track. Continue reading

John Mayer’s Career Found Dead In Chicago Hotel Room

John Mayer

Some argue this cannot be the career of John Mayer as the head isn't big enough.

Chicago—The 13 year-long musical career of pop/blues singer/songwriter John Mayer was found unconscious and unresponsive in his room at The Drake Hotel yesterday morning around 8:30 am. The cause of the career’s demise is still under investigation, but to no one’s surprise, it appears to be self-inflicted, said Chicago Police Department officials.

The tumultuous career got its start in 1998 and often found itself in the media spotlight more for its love life and stupid comments to magazines, rather than its “talent.” Continue reading

Carson Daly

Insomniacs, rejoice! NBC announced that “Last Call With Carson Daly” has been renewed for an eleventh season, and even Carson Daly was surprised to learn that his show was still being aired.

“It’s on at 1:35 (ET) in the morning, I’ve been told,” Daly said. “But I mean, really, who the hell is up at that time? Nobody I know still is up that late.”

NBC said that “Last Call” is currently experiencing its highest-rated season yet, though that’s “mostly really just conjecture. Nielsen Ratings don’t really measure ratings that late at night. We’re pretty sure, though, that it’s been a good year for the program.”
