The Daily Quarterly: Bringing The Heat

Ahh, summer. The time of year when hurricanes may or may not start to form, when The Greatest Basketball Player(s) of All Time win or lose trophies, and when Congressmen get caught Tweeting inappropriate photos to women of all ages they’ve never met.

We didn’t know Christmas came this time of year, but every news agency in the country, and perhaps the world owes New York Democratic Congressman Anthony (and his?) Weiner a debt of gratitude.

We’re actively Tweeting him trying to get him to do a TDQ Q&A, and let him set the record straight. We won’t stop until we can bring you his perverse side of the story told from his twisted point of view.

Rest assured summer will not be a time that TDQ will be slacking, laying around the pool. For one, we’re still appealing that pool ban by our homeowner’s association. We still contend, if the charges are dropped, they don’t have a right to keep us out. Pool Nazis.

And for another reason: we made a pledge back in February to not rest until you get all the news you deserve, the way you deserve it. And the news doesn’t take the summer off. Unlike our favorite TV shows. Although “Wipeout” usually makes an appearance during the summer. We love John Anderson and John Henson. And how hot is Jill Wagner? Crazy hot, that’s how hot. As if summer wasn’t hot enough, we get Jill Wagner, too? Really?

She’s so hot she could be Canadian. How many hot actresses and models are Canadian? Tons of them. Am I right? Evangeline Lily, Erica Durance, Natasha Henstridge. Elisha Cuthbert, Kathleen Robertson, and of course, the best-looking reporter in TV news, Ashleigh Banfield. Wow. We tried to friend her on Facebook, and she has too many friend requests. Surprised? We’re not.

And so to sum up: Weiner good, his actions bad. We’re not allowed at our local pool, so we won’t be wasting time getting skin cancer when there’s breaking news to report. And Canada is full of hot women.

  1. It would appear to this rabid reader , that our ever-absorbed writer is a bit confused . Is he making a poorly stated rally cry for some out-dated pool rule? Is he enamored with our Northern female neighbors? Is his tweeter overworked?
Please remain focused dear writer. Your followers need that. They can be confused on their own.

    • Thank you for your comment. I think you will agree that any mention or mere thought of Canadian actresses can make even the most focused writer lose his way. Watching “LOST” was a difficult enough exercise without being thrown for a loop every time Evangeline Lily was on screen. We tried to watch “24” as well, but gave up trying to follow the plot early on, once we notice Elisha Cuthbert. Striking. Well done, Canada. Well done!
